6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Why give generously?
Because our relationship with money reflects our hearts. Because He provides resources to spread the gospel through His people. Because as Jesus said,“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” Matthew 6:24
Renewal is beginning a five year journey toward our 2020 Vision; the transformation of our Gatherings, providing spiritually inspiring Connections, Engaging with God individually and corporately, Serving others in the name of Jesus, and Reaching Warren and the world with the gospel.
And our Biblical giving, our generosity, is part of bringing this vision into reality.
But there are barriers to generosity:
Time – some mobile transactions takes longer than 30 seconds, when this happens 85% of people pull the plug!
Location - Back of the kiosk line. Gone on vacation. Or can’t get to church.
Money - No cash? No checkbook? Complex online forms?
Culture - The giving habits of youth have been affected because there’s no culturally relevant way to give.
