1 Timothy 3:1-7 ESV

The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church? ...

Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, ...

He married his high school sweetheart, Christine, in 1971 and together they have been blessed with 2 children, and 5 grandchildren. Greg met Jesus on a retreat called “Walk to Emmaus” on May 3, 1991 and found that it wasn’t about religion, but about a real relationship with a living God. His life has been transformed and he “has not been the same since.”

After 35 years working as a Detroit Police Officer, Greg retired in 2005 and is currently employed at Baker College. He served as an Elder at Grace Community Church in Detroit, Michigan for nine years. Greg’s Life Verse is: Matthew 28:19-20 : “ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Mark Nischik

Mark currently serves as an Elder at Renewal Church. He came to faith in Jesus Christ as a young man while growing up in a Baptist church in Livonia, MI. He was raised in a multi-cultural Christian household, the grandson of a Ukrainian missionary and church planter who also pastored a church in Detroit. One of Mark’s passions is teaching. He really enjoys helping youth grasp biblical truths for the first time; and then learn how to apply these truths to their own lives.
Mark works as an engineer in the field of automotive construction. He has degrees from Western Michigan University, and Wayne State University. Mark met his beautiful wife Norma in 1994 while working in Mexico. They live in Grosse Pointe with their 2 daughters Debra and Sarah. In his spare time, Mark can be found rowing on the Detroit River, or running by Lake St Clair.

Marcus Bradley

Marcas Bradley serves as the Worship Arts Band Director and as an Elder at Renewal Church. Marcas is married to his wonderful wife, Kim, and has enjoyed this blessing for almost 20 years. After obtaining his Bachelors Degree from Bowling Green State University in Psychology, he obtained his Masters Degree and Education Specialist Certification from Wayne State University. He later obtained a Clinical Supervision Specialist Certificate and School Counselor License and is also a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Marcas’ primary ministry is his family. Being a husband, father, and son to those in his household is his first calling. Marcas has served in various churches in their music and children’s ministry (greatly enjoying Grace Church Kidstuff), and has 2 Gospel Music CD’s and written several songs on various independent artists’ music projects.
Marcas has 2 sons who God has blessed him with. His hope is to be an example to them, showing them the fruit of the Spirit of God through patience and kindness. Marcas’ driving thought is, “Time + Effort = Caring”. He feels that it is a privilege to be a part of a church that so obviously cares about others in such an intentional manner; a church that focuses on discipling others and assisting in the healing of peoples’ hearts through the Word of God.
