Being a Christian brings many benefits: salvation, being part of Gods’ family, continued healing, access to the Father, the indwelling Holy Spirit and the list goes on. But in a world that is fallen from God’s standard, in a world that is in rebellion to God, living for Him brings something else: opposition. This week we are reminded that until Jesus returns, Christianity is an opposed faith. But despite this opposition, we have eternal victory in Christ!
Life In Between - Gospel Action - 1 Thess (June 14, 2015)
Can you be a Christian apart from relationship to the church (people)? It doesn’t seem to be what the Lord had in mind… The Apostle Paul worked hard on mission: sharing the gospel, planting churches and raising up Christian leaders. Life In Between - Gospel Love - 1 Thess (June 7, 2015)
Paul describes his time with the Thessalonians in amazing word-pictures: as infants, as a nursing mother, giving their souls. He shows us that Gospel ministry looks like the ministry of Jesus: gospel ministry is love. Gentle love, nurturing love, committed love. In this message Pastor Wayne asks us to consider how we too can be word pictures of the love of God to others.
Life In Between - Gospel Character - 1 Thess (May 31, 2015)
In Paul’s first letter to the church at Thessalonica, he provides a defense of his ministry. Perhaps, due to his early departure, his opponents attacked his character to the church he left behind. What he shows us, is the character of Gospel ministry, the heart that we who are on mission for God should have as we represent Him to the world.
